The Department of Computers was established in 1987. In its nascent stage, it was functioning under the State’s Planning Department, to provide state government a strong technical foundation to better serve its citizens and to create more accountability and efficiency through computerization.
Consequently, in the year 2002 the Department was rechristened as Department of Information Technology & Communication which is continued till date.
State IT Union
Rajasthan Subordinate Computer Employees Association constituted by few senior employees but officially registered in the year 2021.
Basically this union rise issues of Assistant Programmer and Informatic Assistant. There are total 5868 members registered in this Union.
In 2017, Shri Kapil Choudhary become the State President of Rajasthan Subordinate Computer Employees Association.

Bikaner IT Union
IT Union Bikaner is a district-level unit representing employees working under the Department of Information Technology and Communications (DoIT&C), Government of Rajasthan.
